How I Beat Hormonal Acne

Skin before and after

Raise your hand if you’ve ever had to wage war on acne! Yeah, me too. It’s a monster and it leaves behind a battlefield of scars, discoloration, uneven texture and a hit to your self esteem that feels like a bomb went off right on your face for the world to see. #nightmare

The real kicker with acne is that it’s root cause is never easy to determine. So many things can trigger a breakout like new laundry detergent, a change in diet or skincare, or if you’re one of the unluckiest of the acne sufferers, it’s hormone related.

I’ve spent nearly a decade at war with my skin. My breakouts became a daily reminder that I’d probably never be comfortable leaving my house without makeup again. I went through a series of emotions through this struggle that ranged from disbelief to rage, then finally, acceptance that I may just have to wait until menopause to have clear skin again. I’m sure you can relate to those feelings if you’re reading this and have a similar struggle.

I saw a number of specialists for the condition. The only solutions they could offer were birth control, accutane, or an extremely expensive medicated skin care regimen. There was the conversation about changing my diet. No real direction provided as to what changes really needed to be made in order to see improvement though.

Then it all changed…

Just as soon as I had accepted my fate and decided to go down the accutane path, I was introduced to Skin Accumax. That’s when everything changed. I wasn’t a believer at first though. How could vitamins actually fix my skin? Well… they can. AND THEY DO! This is how I beat hormonal acne. Here’s the proof!

The only thing remaining in the last set of photos was scarring. My skin made more progress in a few months with the introduction of Skin Accumax vitamins than it ever did on medication. In addition to Skin Accumax, I started cleansing my face with Obagi Clenziderm. It can be drying at first, but once your skin adjusts, it gets better. I’ve linked it in my LiketoKnowit as well as my Amazon Favorites for easy access.

Getting facials every 6 weeks or so also really helps keep your pores from getting clogged. Hydrafacials are my favorite! I go to a spa in Alpharetta called Anderson Aesthetics to get a hydrafacial along with dermaplaning. My skin looks brighter after my treatments. They introduced me to my new favorite skincare line called Biopelle Tensage. It’s helped so much with improving the moisture and repairing the damage from years of acne.

I’ve been telling all my friends about Skin Accumax because it actually works!! If you decide to give it a try, let me know.
